Wayne Hagadone, 75, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998 in Boise, Idaho. A Vigil Service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998 at Coffelt's Moon Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 7, 1998 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Dennis C. Day officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 4-5:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998 at Coffelt's Moon Chapel. Wayne was born on June 4, 1923 in Sandpoint, Idaho, the son of George and Lula Hagadone. he grew up and attended schools in Sandpoint and graduated from Sandpoint High School and then attended Lewiston Normal School in Lewiston, Idaho. He married Helen Church on June 28, 1944 in Thompson Falls, Mont. He worked as a carpenter during World War II at Farragut Naval Station. Wayne worked with his brother, John, in the operation of Sandpoint Furniture. He was also appointed deputy clerk for Bonner County during the early 1950s. He started his career as a teacher and coach at Sandpoint High School in the 1940s. Throughout his life he contributed to the community and its young people. Wayne served as the clerk-treasurer for the Bonner County School District for 21 years, retiring in 1986. Wayne loved the outdoors, especially family activities such as hunting, fishing, wood cutting and camping. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight for two terms and was also a member of the Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. No. 1376, all in Sandpoint. Wayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen Hagadone, Sandpoint; (Private); six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers. Memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund or St. Joseph's Building Fund.
