Ada Lois Phillips
Ada Lois Phillips, 84, area resident for 75 years, passed away on Friday,
March 18, 1994 in Sandpoint, Idaho. Memorial services will be held at
11 a.m., Thursday, March 24, 1994 at the First Presbyterian Church with
Pastor Mary Robinson-Mohr officiating. Inurnment will be at Pinecrest
Memorial Park at a later date. Ada was born on January 22, 1910 in
Culbertson, Montana the daughter of George and Lula Hagadone. She came to
Sandpoint with her family in 1919 and attended local schools graduating from
Sandpoint High School in 1929 as class valedictorian. Ada received her
General Elementary Certificate of Graduation from Lewiston State Normal
School in 1931. In 1961 she received her B.A. in Education from Eastern
Washington College of Education in Cheney, Wa. She taught in Bonner County
Schools for 34 years starting with the rural schools of Sunnyside, Meegan,
East River, and Dover. Ada retired in 1975 after teaching at Washington
School for 29 years. She was an avid reader and took a keen interest in the
development of Washington School. Ada was a member of the First Presbyterian
Church, Bonner County Education Assoc., and Delta Kappa Gamma, a retired
teachers sorority. She is survived by (Private);
two granddaughters (Private) and
(Private); two grandsons
(Private) and
(Private); one sister Linda Culley,
Sandpoint; one brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Helen
Hagadone, Sandpoint; one sister-in-law
(Private), Sandpoint; one aunt Goulda Bower,
Spokane, Wa. and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Ada was preceded
in death by her parents, George and Lula, and four brothers Wilbur, John,
Clayton, and Clair. Memorials may be made to the Washington School Library
in Sandpoint.

Friday. She was born in Culbertson, Mont. She graduated from Sandpoint High
School, Lewiston State Normal School and Eastern Washington College of
Education. She taught in rural schools in Bonner County, including 29 years
at Washington School in Sandpoint, and retired in 1975. She was a member of
First Presbyterian Church, Bonner County Education Association and Delta
Kappa Gamma. She is survived by (Private); one
sister, Linda Culley of Sandpoint; one brother, Wayne Hagadone of Sandpoint;
two granddaughters, and two grandsons.
